Twelve people in Ireland have died over the last five years from the dangerous strain of meningitis found in several of those infected in the outbreak of the disease in Kent, England.
The 12 deaths from meningitis B, which occurred between 2021 and last year, highlight how lethal the infection can be if not treated early.
