The Comeraghs Wild Festival concert 2026 is set to deliver one of the standout live music events of the summer, as two major Irish acts prepare to headline an open-air show in County Waterford.

Organisers have confirmed that The Frank and Walters and Ruaile Buaile will take to the stage at Cooney’s Yard on Friday, July 10.

Set in the heart of the Comeragh Mountains, the concert will combine indie nostalgia with high-energy trad in a unique outdoor setting.

The Frank and Walters bring decades of indie hits

The Frank and Walters have built a loyal following over more than 30 years, becoming one of Ireland’s most recognisable indie bands.

Frontman Paul Linehan leads the group alongside Ashley Keating, Rory Murphy and Cian Corbett, delivering live performances known for their energy and audience participation.

Their best-known tracks include Fashion Crisis Hits New York and After All, a song that reached number 11 in the UK charts and number 5 in Ireland.

The band continues to tour internationally, drawing large crowds across Ireland, the UK, Europe and the United States.

Ruaile Buaile

Joining them on the night, Ruaile Buaile will bring their signature “twisted trad” sound to the Comeragh Mountains.

The five-piece group, featuring Niall Kelly, Jack Godley, Shane Lynam, Cathal Guinan and Seán Bourke, has gained a reputation for electrifying live shows since forming in 2011.

They recently achieved world-championship success and continue to impress audiences with a mix of traditional Irish music, modern arrangements and high-energy performance.

Their shows regularly turn crowds into lively dance floors from the opening moments.

Unique setting

The concert will take place at Cooney’s Yard, a distinctive venue surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the Comeragh Mountains.

With long summer evenings and a scenic backdrop, organisers expect the event to deliver a memorable festival atmosphere.

Festival organisers highlight special atmosphere

Festival organiser Bernadette Drohan said the concert remains a central part of the festival each year.

She said the event brings people together for live music in a unique mountain setting and creates a special atmosphere that stands out from traditional venues.

Drohan added that this year’s line-up will deliver a night filled with nostalgia, energy and celebration, making it one of the most anticipated events of the festival.
