We try some of the best – and worst – versions on the market

Hot cross buns

Hot cross buns are in all the shops now and available in a range of different flavours, including chocolate, apple and even tiramisu.

For this taste test, though, we stuck to the traditional versions available in all the supermarkets and tasted them both cold and unadulterated, as well as toasted, spread with a little butter.
