The 14th of March marked the last day of the Rugby Six Nations Championship, securing a commanding 43-21 victory for Ireland over Scotland.
Jamie Osborne opened the score for Ireland just 3 minutes after the starting whistle, setting the tone for what would become a dominant performance for the Irish team.
With three tries to just one by the Scottish team at half time, Ireland entered the second half with a promising 19-7 lead. It wasn’t over yet for the Scots, however, as Finn Russell tried to reignite Scottish hopes with a try at 52 minutes – making the score 19-14. This attempt to bridge the gap was short-lived, with Ireland scoring three more tries in the second half.

Despite the Irish team’s commendable performance, this victory was not enough to grant them the Six Nations trophy. The Six Nations title went instead to France, with Thomas Ramos narrowly securing their victory in a last-minute penalty against England.
The 2026 Six Nations Championship marks the seventeenth year since Ireland last claimed its title, since 2009 – we can only hope that this dry spell won’t continue into the next rugby season.
