Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed what’s next for Todd and Theo. Gareth Pierce and James Cartwright have taken centre stage on the soap over the past year. The two soap stars have given powerful performances in their portrayal of domestic abuse in a same sex relationship.
Things have escalated in recent weeks and viewers were pleased to see Theo end the relationship. We’ve watched through months of pain and torture as Todd lost himself within this abusive relationship.
However, the couple have now reconciled and Theo can already hear wedding bells. During Tuesday’s episode, Theo revealed he never cancelled the wedding and he plans to surprise Todd by taking him to the wedding reception.
Theo leads a blindfolded Todd into the register office where Gary and Maria wait. Producing two wedding rings, Theo explains to Todd that they never cancelled their wedding so can still go ahead. How will a shell-shocked Todd react?
Despite Todd remaining silent about the truth behind his relationship, George has started to make his own predictions about what Theo’s behaviour is really like behind closed doors.

Next week, Christina and Summer bring Glenda and Sarah up to speed on George’s theory that Theo is abusing Todd, horrified to realise Todd has been suffering in silence.
Todd arrives for work and realising they’re talking about him, leaps to Theo’s defence. George doesn’t believe a word.
Sarah shares her concerns with a sceptical Gary, but when Sarah lists all the incidents which point at domestic abuse, the scales fall from his eyes.
As Todd steals himself to enter the flat, Gary appears and offers to accompany him. Upon hearing the key in the door, Theo shouts abuse, but he’s taken aback to realise Todd has Gary with him. Will Gary let it ride?
At the yard, Gary hands Theo his tools and tells him he’s fired. When Theo accuses him of overreacting, Gary loses his temper and warns him to watch his back.
George calls at the flat and hands Todd a holdall explaining that it’s his escape bag, it contains all the basics and when the time comes he can grab it and leave. Will Todd realise it’s time to break free?
In the shop flat, Theo discovers Todd’s escape bag. Thinking on his feet, Todd lies and makes out it’s a present from George because he told him about their Belfast plans. Will Theo buy Todd’s story?
