A man has been charged and a teenager arrested after gardaí seized two high-powered electric scooters – along with a bladed weapon – in a “day of action” in Dublin 7.

The man, aged in his 30s, who was arrested under public order legislation is expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Court 4, this morning.

The juvenile male, aged in his teens, who was arrested has since been released without charge pending referral to the National Youth Diversion Programme.

Gardaí carried out a coordinated national day of action relating to powered personal transporters yesterday as part of Operation Meacán.
