Many moons ago, Armagh played Galway in the All-Ireland senior football final and were content in the closing stages to protect a slender lead by putting boot to ball to get it as far away from the danger zone as possible.
It wasn’t aimless. One such clearance found its way to Niall Grimley for their final score, while a follow-up landed in Ross McQuillan’s vicinity in Galway’s half, but Galway were able to recover it and build again.
