We’re now just five days away from the premiere of Maul: Shadow Lord. So of course, the marketing push has reached its peak with new promos dropping left and right. Today’s offering includes a brand-new TV spot released today that features tons of new footage (and a tease of what to expect from the show’s Inquisitors).
The spot shows Maul tormented by the words of Palpatine, while also introducing a Sith take on the line, “I am one with the Force, the Force is with me.” Instead, we hear Maul repeatedly utter, “I master the Force, and the Force serves me.” You can check out the latest spot down below.
On top of that, executive producer Athena Yvette Portillo recently spoke with Collider and gave an update on the potential for a second season. She said:
“We have other things in development and in progress, not necessarily related to the show. So again, it all depends on whether the fans really do want another season, and then we’re all for it.”
Of course, this is a pretty standard response for most shows these days. It all ultimately comes down to whether the show brings in enough views to justify another season. However, since Maul is such a fan favorite, we doubt it should have any problems hitting Lucasfilm’s goals. All this quote really tells us is that a second season isn’t out of the realm of possibility, meaning the first season likely leaves room for future storytelling. Either way, we’ll just have to wait and see where Shadow Lord ultimately leaves Maul by the end of this first season.
