Avengers: Secret Wars could wind up having more Spider-Men in it than Spider-Man: Brand New Day does.

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day, also known as Spider-Man 4, is scheduled to arrive in United States theaters this summer. Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Wonder Man’s Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie will once again see Tom Holland reprise his MCU role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Avengers: Secret Wars, meanwhile, is currently dated for December 2027. That movie serves as a sequel to Avengers: Doomsday, which comes out this December from Marvel.

What is the new Avengers: Secret Wars rumor?

According to scooper James Mack, there will be at least three — and possibly more — versions of Spider-Man who show up in Avengers: Secret Wars. With Holland being the only Spider-Man confirmed for Brand New Day at this time, this means Secret Wars could wind up having more Spider-Men in it than Brand New Day.

Of course, this is only a rumor at this time as well, meaning this news should be taken with a grain of salt. There’s been no official announcement from Marvel about Holland, or any other Spider-Men, appearing in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.

Should the rumor be true, though, Mack would presumably be talking about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, as there’s been plenty of rumors suggesting that they’ll be part of the forthcoming Avengers movies. The “maybe even more” could wind up being Miles Morales, though whether or not that actually comes to fruition remains to be seen.

There is also plenty of speculation as to whether Garfield or Maguire will show up in Brand New Day, as both of them were featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Similar to the situation with the Avengers movies, there’s been no announcement regarding their casting in Spider-Man 4.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on July 31, 2026. Avengers: Doomsday follows on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars then arriving on December 17, 2027.
