Lionel Richie provided a rare update about his expanding family after his youngest daughter, Sofia Richie Grainge, welcomed her second child in March.

Lionel Richie is sharing a rare update about his expanding family. The Grammy winner’s daughter, Sofia Richie Grainge, 27, gave birth to her second child with husband Elliot Grainge, 32, in March. On Instagram, they announced the arrival of their son, Henry Cecil Grainge.

“The beautiful part about it is that the family keeps growing, and my pride keeps popping out of my chest,” the 76-year-old musician told USA Today on March 30. “It’s wonderful. Everyone’s happy, and that’s the part I love the most, watching everyone blossom.”
The Grainges welcomed their first child, a daughter named Eloise, in May 2024.
Richie Grainge has opened up about what Richie is like as a grandfather. “We call him Pop Pop,” she told the Wall Street Journal in August 2024. The hitmaker previously expressed resistance to being called “grandpa.”

She continued, “He was on a U.S. tour when I gave birth, so he came home to meet Eloise. He’s in love, and it’s so crazy. It’s so surreal to be the youngest kid and then have a kid and see your parents act with your kids. I don’t know how to explain it.”
After Eloise was born, Richie spoke about how he bonds with his granddaughter. “I have a problem,” he told E! News that October. “You know, it’s like the thing where you can just blow on the stomach and the little smile comes on the face. I can just stick her in my pocket and take her around town.”

Richie also has two grandchildren from his daughter Nicole Richie, Harlow and Sparrow, whom she shares with her husband, Joel Madden.
