Sport can deliver some neat stories of serendipity. This isn’t exactly one of those.
On the eve of Ireland’s Women’s Rugby World Cup pool game with New Zealand last September, Dorothy Wall found herself in the exact same hotel she stayed in the night before she made her international debut five years previously. The cruel twist to this full-circle moment was that she was in Dublin and Ireland’s match with the Black Ferns was hundreds of miles away in Brighton.
