Anyone intending to complete their Easter shopping is being advised to pay attention as Ireland’s leading supermarkets have revealed alterations to their trading times for Easter.

This year, Easter Sunday lands on April 5, and retailers including Dunnes Stores, Tesco, Aldi and SuperValu, will operate limited hours throughout Easter Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday Monday, with some shutting completely on Easter Sunday.

If you haven’t started stockpiling your chocolate eggs ahead of this weekend, it might be a good idea to check out the opening times of your local supermarket as there are a few changes you may need to be aware of.

To help you plan ahead and avoid a wasted trip, here’s a breakdown of all the Easter weekend opening hours for Ireland’s top supermarkets.

Aldi

Aldi has confirmed it will shut every single one of its outlets across Ireland for one day this Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

The well-known supermarket brand will close all 166 branches countrywide on Easter Sunday, providing employees a well-earned break during one of the most hectic weekends of the year, reports RSVP Live.

The budget retailer has also confirmed slightly reduced hours for Easter Monday, so customers are being warned to plan their shopping in advance.

Aldi announced the following Easter weekend trading times:

Holy Saturday, April 4: Regular hours continue, with stores open from 8am to 10pm.Easter Sunday, April 5: All Aldi stores closedEaster Monday, April 6: Opening one hour later at 9am and closing one hour earlier at 9pm.

Aldi’s times can be verified on their website for shoppers to remain informed, as they may differ from outlet to outlet.

Dunnes Stores

Dunnes Stores will equally close all 138 of its Irish branches this Easter Sunday as part of their amended Easter schedule.

Most are anticipated to trade from 9am to 7pm on bank holiday Monday.

Customers are being urged to check their local outlet’s opening and closing times as each branch will have its own arrangement and check on the store locator to ensure the shop they wish to visit remains open.

Dunnes Stores will resume normal operations from Tuesday, April 7.

SuperValuA Supervalu store

Supervalu are also anticipated to run on curtailed hours throughout the extended weekend, though a number of branches are likely to trade as usual on Saturday, and maintain their typical Sunday schedule on both Easter Sunday and bank holiday Monday.

Individual branches will differ so make sure you check their store locator online to discover how your nearest outlet is impacted.

Tesco

Tesco are anticipated to maintain their standard hours on Saturday.

On Easter Sunday selected branches will be shut while others will run bank holiday hours.

Tesco outlets typically run on curtailed hours of 9am to 8pm on bank holiday Mondays, but shoppers should check their local branch online for precise times throughout the weekend before visiting the shops as individual Tesco outlets can differ.
