Winter League of Ireland exports Mason Melia and Owen Elding made rapid fire contributions for their new clubs on Saturday, with Melia scoring three minutes into his first appearance for the Tottenham Hotspur U-21 side and Elding breaking the deadlock for Hibs just 15 seconds into their Scottish top flight win over Kilmarnock.
Melia has been minded by Spurs since his €1.8m winter move from St Patrick’s Athletic due to a back injury and an infection and he missed the Ireland U-21 double header with Moldova and Kazakhstan.
