Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt received backlash after sharing a social media post in which she said she “needed” her husband, Chris Pratt

“You’re not helpless and neither are your daughters,” one person wrote in the post’s comments

The initial post, which was shared by the author on March 29, featured a video of the Guardians of the Galaxy actor building a dollhouse for their children

Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt is facing backlash over comments she made about “needing” her husband, Chris Pratt.

The author, 36, shared a tribute to Pratt — with whom she shares children Lyla, 5, and Eloise, 3, and Ford, 16 months — on Instagram on March 29.

In text over a clip of the actor, 46, sanding the exterior of a wooden toy house, Schwarzenegger Pratt said she isn’t afraid to admit that she needs the Marvel star.

“I’ll never understand when women say ‘I don’t need my husband’ when I very much in fact do need my husband because who else would build our daughters a doll house?” the mom of three wrote.

Schwarzenegger Pratt set the tribute to the song “Man I Need” by Olivia Dean, adding, “When you have a golden retriever husband >>>,” in the post’s caption.

A number of commenters took issue with the post, saying that it implied that women aren’t as capable as men.

“Women can do that. We can buy our own homes and vote, too! 😉,” one person wrote.

“You would build it. You’re not helpless and neither are your daughters,” another wrote.

Someone else said, “You. You could do it. How nice that he did but it’s either tone deaf or passive aggressive to say you’ll ‘never understand.’ “

“Yes!! I definitely need my husband, and he needs me too! Marriage is a partnership,” one person wrote.
