There’s a load of new unmissable TV launching this week across streaming and broadcast, with everything from action to comedy to reality TV. Among the highlights is the fifth season of Prime Video‘s The Boys, which will mark the final outing of the series after seven years.

There’s also the return of Hugh Bonneville’s beloved but hapless team leader Ian Fletcher in Twenty Twenty Six, a new offshoot of W1A and Twenty Twelve, as he focuses this time on the 2026 World Cup.

If you’re looking for more serious drama, then new The Handmaid’s Tale sequel series The Testaments – which is based on the “modern masterpiece” book by Margaret Atwood – is premiering, and focuses on June Osborne’s (Elisabeth Moss) daughter Agnes (Chase Infiniti) years after the original series.

We’ve rounded up five of the best highlights across the BBC, ITV, Prime Video, Disney+ and HBO/Sky to keep an eye out for in the next few days.

Twenty Twenty Six

If you’ve missed the hilarious antics of BBC mockumentary W1A, then Hugh Bonneville’s Ian Fletcher is returning for this new sequel series in which he is appointed Director of Integrity for the FIFA World Cup.

As Ian swaps Broadcasting House for Miami, the wonderfully inept Will “yeah no cool” Humphries is also back in tow, this time as his PA – which means disaster is certainly around the corner.

There’s also a new cast of characters that fans will get to know for Twenty Twenty Six, played by Marli Siu, Nicole Sadie Sawyerr, Joe Hewetson, Erin Kellyman, Nick Blood, Jimena Larraguivel, Stephen Kunken and Chelsey Crisp.

Twenty Twenty Six is available to watch on Wednesday, 8 April at 10pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

The second edition of the all-star series launches this week, with a line-up of iconic past stars including Gemma Collins, Scarlett Moffatt, Adam Thomas, Beverley Callard, Mo Farah and Harry Redknapp.

Like the first season, the show has already been pre-recorded, with viewers able to decide on a winner in a live grand finale.

Fans can also expect the celebs to be put through much “tougher” trials and “relentless twists and turns”.

ITV added: “The campmates will never know what’s coming next. They will be faced with challenges at every turn, quickly learning that with big decisions come even bigger consequences.”

I’m a Celebrity… South Africa season two is available to watch on Monday, 6 April on ITV1 and ITVX.

The Boys, season 5

The new fifth season of the superhero satire series finally drops this week, and will act as a swansong to the hit Prime Video show.

The last season’s finale was a huge streaming hit, reaching 1.3 billion minutes watched in the week of its launch, so anticipation is sky-high for the final episodes.

In the wake of its events, the world is now under Homelander’s power and subject to his “erratic, egomaniacal whims”, while Butcher “sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it”.

Fans can also expect a Supernatural reunion between stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins.

The Boys season five will premiere with two episodes on Wednesday, 8 April on Prime Video.

The Testaments

One Battle After Another breakout Chase Infiniti leads this Handmaid’s Tale spin-off, which like its predecessor is based on a book by iconic author Margaret Atwood.

The story follows her character Agnes, daughter of June from the previous show, as she leads a shielded existence in the dystopian Gilead. However, she befriends a new arrival called Daisy (Lucy Halliday) from Canada, and through her realises the oppression they are under as she begins a rebellion.

Creator Bruce Miller previously compared The Testaments unexpectedly to Mean Girls, adding that it is “about what it’s like to be young and full of energy when the country is trying to turn you into something awful”.

The Testaments is available to watch on Wednesday, 8 April on Disney+.

Euphoria, season 3

After what seems like a lifetime, the hit HBO teen drama is back for a third and likely final season.

The show is going for a five year time jump as the characters now navigate adult lives, with the likes of Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi all back in tow. There are also a number of exciting new cast additions, including Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Natasha Lyonne and Rebecca Pidgeon.

However, it appears it could be the end of the line for the Sam Levinson drama, with HBO Head of Drama Francesca Orsi telling Deadline: “We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end.

“I think you will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative.”

Euphoria season three will premiere on Sunday, 12 April on HBO Max in the US and Monday, April 13 on HBO Max/Sky and NOW in the UK.
