Gardaí and emergency services were at the scene of a collision in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, on Friday shortly after 3pm.

The incident, involving a pedestrian and a lorry, happened at Station Roundabout, Port Road.

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 40s, was seriously injured.

She taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment, and died on Sunday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the fatal crash to contact them.

Meanwhile, gardaí are at the scene of a serious crash involving a bus and a pedestrian.

The incident happened on the junction of Terenure Cross in Terenue on Monday morning.

It is understood the middle-aged woman was treated at the scene by medics before being transferred to hospital with head injuries.

In a statement, a garda spokesperson said: “We are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the junction of Terenure Cross, Terenure, Dublin 6W involving a bus and a pedestrian.”

“No further details at this time,” they added.

Traffic restrictions are currently in place as gardaí are at the scene.

On Saturday gardai issued an appeal in relation to another fatal collision in Dublin in which an elderly woman was hit by a bus.

They are appealing for witnesses following the fatal incident at the junction of Main Street and Bath Place, Blackrock, Co. Dublin on Wednesday March 25.

“Shortly before 1.10pm gardaí and emergency services responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a bus and a pedestrian. A female pedestrian, aged in her 80s, was conveyed to St. Vincent’s University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries,” a spokesperson said.

She died from her injuries on Friday morning. The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination was being arranged.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam, who were in the area of Main Street and Bath Place, Blackrock, Co. Dublin on Wednesday March 25 between 12.45pm and 1.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Also on Saturday gardai issued an appeal for witnesses to a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the R392 in Ballymahon, Co. Longford shortly after midnight on Sunday March 29.

A man in his 30s, the sole occupant of the car, was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore for treatment of injuries. He passed away in hospital on Friday.
