Spencer Matthews has spoken about one of the turning points that led to him realising some of his past habits were not good for him and the role wife Vogue Williams played in those realisations

TV star Spencer Matthews said he was told his wife would leave him and take the children with her when he was given a brutal warning.
Spencer, 37, has three children with his wife and model Vogue Williams, 40, Theodore, seven, Gigi, five and Otto, three.
Spencer was speaking on the On The Mend podcast hosted by Busted star Matt Willis about his past drinking habits and how we went to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) where he was given a stern warning by one of the other members.
Speaking of the experience and the warning, he said: “I didn’t love it. I participated very strongly from the beginning. I thought being there you may as well dive in. My first, I have to say, was an eye opener, this guy was keen for me to see that.
“When I called him afterwards, he was like ‘You see what you saw there could be you and it doesn’t matter that you’re wealthy and have a fit wife and have lovely kids and your family are well to do.
“‘If you carry on the way you’re going all of that can go. Your wife can leave you, she’ll take the kids. Your family will disown you…they’ll turn their back on you and you will end up just like that.’”

Later in the podcast, he talked more about the role Vogue played in helping reshape his life and how one major moment occurred when she became pregnant with their first child.
Spencer, who has now made a name for himself as an influencer and athlete who travels around the world undertaking incredible physical challenges, said: “In the first few years of dating I felt like I was a bit out of my depth.
“It’s nice to feel a sense of equality in a relationship, but I was very aware that if I carried on with my drinking and bad habits that she would get bored and she would leave me.
“I knew that. She knew that, she never made it a thing, she never sat me down and gave me some sort of ultimatum, but I could feel it, feel that she was a bit disappointed in me. There was one too many times.”

On the role Theodore played, he added: “The light was shined on my boozing when she fell pregnant with our first born Theodore.
“He made a big difference to our relationship, because what felt like joint fun became solo fun quite quickly because she stopped drinking completely obviously.
“And I just didn’t I just carried on and it created this divide in the relationship, but also made me realise maybe my drinking habits are not normal.”
