Northwest Donegal has been named as a must-see destination to visit in Ireland by acclaimed travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller.

The respected travel publication often publicises summaries of the best places to visit in countries across the globe, with Northwest Donegal making their list of the 7 Wonders of Ireland. 

Waterford, with its Copper Coast and Greenway, was named as the top destination in Ireland by Condé Nast Traveller. 

Other destinations to make the list were The Burren, The Ring of Beara, The Fermanagh Lakelands, The passage tombs of the Ancient East, and Kilkenny.

Regarding Northwest Donegal, the article praised the “mighty” rewards, mentioning Glenveagh National Park as a “spectacular wilderness to explore,” and Errigal’s “perfect triangular peak,” which could be scaled in plenty of time to then “head to the long, sandy beaches of Dunfanaghy.”

A trip to Tory Island, according to the article, would take a whole day, but is known for its “legendary céilís and late-night trad sessions,” before concluding with the “windswept” Fanad Lighthouse.
