The Trump administration has released updated designs of its proposed triumphal arch project by architecture studio Harrison Design, which were submitted to the Commission of Fine Arts on Friday.

The triumphal arch would be located on an undeveloped traffic circle in Washington, DC, across the Potomac River from the Lincoln Memorial.

It was first proposed by US President Donald Trump in October 2025 as part of initiatives to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Commenters jokingly referred to it as the “Arc De Trump” – a play on the famous Paris arch.

The design was submitted via a PDF presentation to the advisory Commission of Fine Arts (CFA).

The documents contain site plans and renders of the project.

The drawings show the archway spanning the width of a roundabout. Two eagles and a winged angel sit on top, while the words “One Nation Under God” and “Liberty and Justice for All” are shown presented across the capital of the arch on either side.

Shiny, golden adornments and two lions are also placed around the site.

Plans and sections show a staircase travelling through the structure.

How Donald Trump is using architecture to reshape Washington DC

The CFA, which features several Trump appointees, acts as a federal advisory panel to the President on “matters of design and aesthetics” in Washington DC.

It does not have the power to vote on the construction of a federal project. However. Trump used the panel to move the White House ballroom forward, which is currently being held up in courts, as the approval process was deemed unlawful.

It is proposed to be part of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States of America

The CFA is due to consider the design at a meeting next week, based on the current plans.

Trump previously presented models of the arch at a fundraising event at the White House in October. At the time, it was unclear if there was an architect on the project, although architecture studio Harrison Design produced renders for the event.

Trump has proposed a number of projects around the nation’s capital. It remains to be seen if the project will be built, given his unprecedented approach to building in the area.

The administration also released designs for a presidential library in Miami last week.
