Tesco Ireland has opened a new Express Store on Morehampton Road, Donnybrook, Dublin 4, creating 12 jobs for the local area.

The new store makes it easier for customers to pick up great-value groceries close to home, alongside great-quality fresh local and Irish produce.

Shoppers will find a range of local favourites on shelves, including products from Freshways, Oishii Foods and Keogh’s Crisps.

The new store is open from 7am to 10pm daily, to fit around busy days.

Customers can also use Whoosh, Tesco’s rapid delivery service, to get fresh food and everyday essentials delivered straight to their door in as little as 45 minutes.

Tesco has also fitted the store with several energy-saving measures, such as doors on fridges, to help reduce energy consumption.

‘Incredibly Excited’

Store manager Peter Allen, who has 20 years’ experience, will lead a team of 12 colleagues at the new Tesco Express.

Speaking at the opening, Allen said, “My team and I are incredibly excited to open our new store today.

“It has been a busy few months getting to this point, and we are looking forward to welcoming customers and being part of the local community.

“Through the Tesco Community Fund, we are pleased to be able to support local groups and projects over the coming months.”

Across Ireland, Tesco supports the communities it serves, and, to date, the Tesco Community Fund has helped thousands of organisations nationwide, from GAA clubs to children’s charities.

As part of its first campaign, the Morehampton Road store will support Beechwood Football Club and Donnybrook Scout Group, as well as St Mary’s National School.

Additionally, the store will help ensure no good food goes to waste through Tesco’s food surplus redistribution programme, FoodCloud partners, and OLIO Food Waste Heroes.

The Morehampton Road team will also support Tesco’s charity partner, Children’s Health Foundation (CHF), which supports sick children in Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin, Connolly, Temple Street and Tallaght hospitals.
