Met Éireann forecasters warned of very strong and gusty winds

Met Éireann has issued Status Yellow Wind and Rain weather warnings for a number of counties.
A Status Yellow – Wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Mayo, and Sligo will come into effect at midnight on Saturday, and remain in place until 2pm on Saturday.
Met Éireann forecasters warned there would be very strong and gusty south to southwest winds. Potential impacts include difficult travelling conditions, some fallen trees and branches and loose objects displaced.
A separate Status Yellow – Wind and Rain warning for Cork and Kerry will come into effect at midday on Saturday and remain in place until 8pm on Saturday.
Forecasters warned of very strong and gusty southwesterly winds, along with squally heavy showers or longer spells of rain and a chance of hail and thunder.
Potential impacts in all counties over the course of the warnings include difficult travelling conditions, some fallen trees and branches and loose objects displaced.
