While an injury‑hit Offaly had lost all seven games in Division 2 of the National Football League, Laois could never have expected to have things as handy as they sauntered to a comfortable win in the first round of the Leinster championship in Tullamore.

On a very bad day for Offaly, Laois were the better side from start to finish, looking like winning almost from the throw‑in.
