Prices of oil-fired properties will struggle as cost of filling the tank rises to hit a 30-year high

There’s a reason late spring is the traditional peak of the annual property-selling season – well-established gardens are starting to bloom and homes look better in sunnier weather.
But sellers of older properties that rely on heating oil for central heating and hot water may attract lower-than-expected prices in the months ahead, as house-hunters become increasingly spooked by the record-high kerosene prices and intermittent supply shortages sparked by the US war on Iran and the resulting blockade in the Persian Gulf.
