A man has been arrested by the gardaí for alleged threats against an elected representative relating to the fuel protests.
Gardaí in the south of the country arrested a man, aged in 20s, on Wednesday morning.
The man, who was arrested under Section 5 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997, has since been released without charge.
A file will now be sent to the Director of Public Prosectuions (DPP).
“Investigations are ongoing,” a Garda spokesperson said.
