While Japanese watchmaker Casio is best known for the reliable, hardy watches it produces at an affordable price point, the brand also offers a series of premium models that take their technology to the next level without compromising too much on their accessible price point.

The Oceanus line is an entry-level luxury range of watches that takes everything devotees love about Casio and amps it up, often featuring cleaner sophisticated designs, thinner cases and more advanced technological features. Now, the brand has unveiled three more models as part of its ‘Indigo Ocean – Awa Indigo’ range, all of which use the traditional Awa Indigo dyeing technique for their mother-of-pearl subdials.

The OCW-T2600AP-1A is a radio-controlled piece with all the necessary technical features, such as support for world time, a basic date display, a day of the week indicator, a 1/20th second stopwatch, Tough Solar charging and water resistance to 100 metres. Its black, blue and silver colour scheme is subtle but still eye-catching, especially thanks to the muted wave patterning on the dial.

Meanwhile, the OCW-S6000AP-1A is similar in its dial design, though the highlight is undeniably its spiral style sapphire glass bezel and slim titanium casing. The S7000AP-1A isn’t too different, though it features a gradient, rather than spiral, coloured bezel and a lighter-coloured case. Where these two models are different from the first is that they are Bluetooth timepieces: the first features multiple tools, such as automatic time adjustments and more available through the Casio Watches smartphone app, while the second uses Bluetooth for automatic time correction via Multiband 6.

Currently, all three models are Japan-exclusive, with the T2600 and S7000 launching on May 22 at ¥154,000 (£715) and ¥264,000 (£1,226), respectively. Only 800 of the first and 1,300 of the second will be made available. However, the S6000 is launching a little later, on June 12 at a price of ¥495,000 (£2,299).
