Coronation Street’s Sair Khan has addressed her social media absence, with her fellow castmates sharing their reactions in her comments. In May 2024, Khan, who has played Alya Nazir on the ITV soap since 2014, announced the arrival of her son with partner Nathan Chilton.
Writing on social media at the time, she said: “He’s here! … Our little boy is just marvellous. Very serious and curious about the world. He’s super strong and so resilient for joining me on the absolute rollercoaster that was our 22 hours of labour.”
However, motherhood has since taken centre stage in Khan’s life, as on 15 April, she took to her Instagram page to address her social media absence, with her last post from November 2025, when she attended the ITV Palooza.

“When you blink and realise you’ve been deep in Mum mode and haven’t posted anything since NOVEMBER… hi,” she wrote on a post featuring images of herself, Nathan, and their little boy.
Among the other supportive messages were a few from her Corrie co-stars, including Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah Platt, who wrote: “Hi, Sair there she is! absolute stunner and all round incredible woman.”
Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster, commented: “Hi there beautiful!” Meanwhile, Vicky Myers, known for her role as DS Lisa Swain, simply said: “Gorgeous.”
Sair and Nathan first announced they were expecting their first child in December 2023, posting at the time: “We’re so excited for the arrival of Baby Chilton in spring 2024.”
A month after her “raw and primal” birth experience, Sair detailed on Instagram how she found the early days of motherhood to be “tough”, as she continued: “The last few weeks have been tough but beautiful.

“Navigating the ups and downs of the postnatal period with each day and night rolling into the next and countless challenges with latching and feeding. We’ve been to sort little man’s tongue tie this morning, so hopefully it’ll be the beginning of more settled times!”
She concluded her post by saying: “I thought I’d be back to regular life straight after birth but the reality has been very different, so just taking it step by step and trying not to feel guilty!”
