Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized approximately 35.2kg of herbal cannabis on Saturday

Revenue officials intercepted a woman transporting over €700,000 worth of suspected cannabis in her luggage at Dublin Airport on Saturday.

Officers discovered 35.2 kg of suspected herbal cannabis vacuum-packed in parcels belonging to a passenger who had disembarked from a flight originating in Doha, Qatar, reports the Irish Mirror.

Gardaí were notified and the woman was taken into custody. She remains in detention for questioning by detectives under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Revenue issued a statement saying: “Yesterday, 18/04/2026, as a result of routine operations, Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized approximately 35.2kg of herbal cannabis. The illicit drugs have an estimated value of over €704,000.

“The cannabis was discovered concealed in vacuum packed packages within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight originating from Doha.”

“One female, aged in her 30s, was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána and is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda Station in Dublin.

“Investigations are ongoing. “This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
