Energy firm attempts to take thousands of euros from customers in billing blunder

An energy supplier has been forced into a humiliating climbdown after a smart-meter billing blunder saw it ­mistakenly seek to withdraw thousands of euro from customer accounts.

Yuno Energy has now been forced to waive bills and compensate some of its customers after the botched ­billing episode.
