Chinese brand Oppo may be best known for its smartphones, but the company is reportedly working on a compact camera, code-named “Fuyao,” set to rival the recently released DJI Osmo Pocket 4 and other similar devices. Not much is known about the new Oppo hardware, though a leak suggests it will be announced and released in 2026 if everything goes to plan.
Like DJI’s Omso series, Fuyao is said to be a 3-axis gimbal camera designed for vlogging that will offer the smartphone manufacturer’s high-quality camera quality within a dedicated device. Oppo phones are often praised for their versatile cameras – Oppo Find X9 Pro ships with a detachable 230mm Hasselblad telephoto lens to complement its 200MP camera.

Based on a leak shared by @jlxc2001 on X, the vlogging camera is set to be available this year “if development progresses smoothly” [translated]. Exact specifications and the design of the device are yet to be made public, though the leaker did offer an AI-generated image to give us a rough idea of what it may look like. If this is anything to go by, it immediately looks similar to the Osmo Pocket 4, but with a smaller screen and little in the way of physical controls.

The Osmo Pocket 4 was released last week, on April 16, just as we saw leaked prices for the upcoming DJI Lito 1 and Lito X1 – these lightweight drones are due to launch this Thursday, on April 23. Interestingly, the Pocket 4 is not available in the United States at launch, reportedly due to a pending authorization application.
In the UK, the Pocket 4 ‘Standard Combo’ retails for £445, while the ‘Creator Combo’ features additional accessories and bumps the price up to £549 – this is actually cheaper than the last-gen Pocket 3, which originally debuted from £489. There’s currently no suggestion as to how much Oppo’s “Fuyao” may cost, but we imagine it will be in the same ballpark.
