Beverley Callard has been forced to quit I’m A Celebrity days before the final on medical grounds.
The ITV jungle show aired tonight, with even more shocking twists. Announcing her exit to her campmates, she said: “Hi guys, I’ve just got something to tell you all.
“I didn’t feel very well this morning… and the medics have advised I can’t return to camp. I’ve got to go home. I don’t want to go. I’m absolutely gutted. I wanted to finish.”
Beverley did not give the specific reasons for her being told to quit the show. She has since gone public about being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in February this year, but that was months after the current jungle series was filmed.

Beverley came into camp and explained to her campmates that she “had a funny turn and they’ve said I can’t come back in and I’ve got to go out. I don’t want to go. I’m gutted I wanted to finish. I wanted to prove older women could do it.”
Scarlett then told her: “Your health is more important,” with Adam adding: “Look how far you have come. I’m so proud of you.” Craig said of her exit: “She gave a really good account of herself and can leave with her head held high.”
Earlier today, Beverley shared an update on her cancer. She said: “I’ve been resting constantly. I’ve had to, yesterday, John didn’t let me do anything. Today, our furniture started to arrive. John didn’t let me do anything. Hopefully, I’ll be keep feeling well and get better. But I’m good, I’m good. Got the big I’m A Celebrity final on Friday – which I’m very excited about, so I’ve got to get myself well for that.”
Over the weekend, Beverley explained that she had been left “completely wiped out” after getting her results on Thursday. She revealed that the surgery “went really well,” and they managed to “cut the cancer out”.
She added: “They’re pleased with how the surgery went. And they also two three lymph nodes. And this is how she explained it to me. The lymph nodes are like a staircase. And if cancer is in the lymph nodes, it sort of tends to climb up the stairs.
“That’s oversimplifying it, but just to help explain. And they took three, and the cancer is in the first lymph node. It’s not in the second two and three. So it is there, but it’s only small.”
Explaining how it works, she said: “So what happens now is they send that to America. I’ve no idea why they send it to America, but they do, apparently, that’s normal. They send it to America to see how aggressive the cancer is. And then I will know about that in approximately two weeks. So it’s waiting again, but never mind. That’s just the way it is. If it’s aggressive, then I’ll have to undergo chemo first and then after that, radiotherapy.”
