BREAKING: Injury blow for Limerick hurlers as star forward ruled out of Cork game

AARON Gillane is set to miss Limerick’s Munster Senior Hurling Championship clash with Cork on Sunday after sustaining a calf injury in training during the week, the Limerick management have confirmed.

Star forward Gillane suffered the injury on Tuesday night and will miss the weekend clash at SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

The Patrickswell man will also miss the game with Clare on May 3 but is expected to return for the latter stages of the round robin.

Gillane joins defender Darragh Langan on the injury list for the game on Leeside.

Throw-in for Sunday’s match is at 2pm and will be preceded by the Limerick senior camogie side’s Munster semi-final with Tipperary.

Meanwhile, Cork have named the same 15 who beat Tipperary last Sunday to start the game this weekend.
