MANY residents in a Limerick town have no running water on the hottest day of the year so far.

Uisce Eireann sent out texts to people living in and around Kilmallock, saying that repairs to a burst water main may cause supply disruptions in the town and surrounding areas.

Works were scheduled to be completed by 3.15pm but now Uisce Eireann has pushed that back to 5pm this Friday, April 24.

An Uisce Eireann spokesperson said: “We recommend that you allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return.”

Some locals report they have no water while others say the water has returned but it is brown in colour.
