The recent spell of dry and sunny weather is set to continue this weekend, with one county expected to see the best of the sunshine on Saturday

Dublin is set to be the hottest county in Ireland this weekend as high pressure continues to build.
Met Eireann said we can expect sunshine and balmy 21C highs to beat down on Saturday as the recent stretch of glorious weather is set to continue across the weekend and into next week.
While some scattered showers are expected in Connacht, Leinster and Ulster this morning, these will gradually clear away to the northeast giving way to plenty of dry weather with spells of sunshine on the cards.
According to Met Eireann, it will be warmest in the east of the country on Saturday, which will see highest temperatures of between 17C and 21C, while temperatures of between 13C and 16C are expected over the western half of Ireland.

Alan O’Reilly, the hobbyist meteorologist who runs the popular Carlow Weather social media pages, has revealed the Dublin is set to see the best of the warm weather, with the sizzling temperatures set to peak in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
In a message to his 300,00 followers on Friday evening, O’Reilly said: “That was a pretty good Friday. Yeah that breeze was a bit annoying but it was a good day.
“Now, we do have some of those showers that are going to kick-off this evening and tonight, and move up from the south and some but them could be thundery but they will be localised. They will clear away on Saturday.
“Now the best of the sunshine on Saturday is going to be in the Eastern half of the country, especially in the afternoon, and that’s where the highest temperatures are going.

“So if you have been in the East and that East wind has been annoying you the good news is is that wind is going to go away and the warmest temperatures [on Saturday] could actually be in Dublin.
“Further West there will be more cloud West and it will feel cooler I’m afraid.
“On Sunday though, there will also be some cloud but there will be some sunny spells.
“There’s only a small chance of a shower on Saturday evening and Sunday, so very small chance, and then the fine weather continues into next week, so don’t forget the sunscreen and enjoy.”
Met Eireann has said there a chance of a few showers on Sunday but overall it will be a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunshine. While it won’t be quite as warm is it forecast to be on Saturday, highest temperatures of 14C to 18C are expected tomorrow with light west to northwest or variable winds.
Looking ahead to next week, Met Eireann has said it will remain generally quite settled and dry overall with sunny spells and milder temperatures too.
