Airline blames ‘operational requirements’ for decision

Aer Lingus has cut up to 50 new cabin crew recruits in recent days, cancelling training courses just four days before some were due to begin. The hopefuls have been left disappointed by the last-minute decision, and out of pocket for medical and visa expenses.
The airline blamed “operational requirements”, but the move was described in an email from the company’s recruiters as a “surprise”.
