An innovative new programme at St John’s Hospital is changing the way surgeries are carried out

A new robotic-assisted surgery programme at St John’s Hospital in the heart of Limerick city has broadened patient access to advanced precision technology associated with improved outcomes and shorter recovery times.

While robotic-assisted surgery has been available in Ireland for over a decade, it has predominantly been used in private hospitals and major teacher hospitals such as those under the the Mater Private Network, making St John’s Hospital in Limerick the first model 2 hospital in Ireland to offer such procedures to public patients.
