Roborock this year officially launched in Ireland with its latest generation of robot vacuums and mops including the affordable QV 35S

Roborock is widely regarded as one of the best robot vacuum brands in the world, building a stellar reputation for convenient, hands-free cleaning.
Earlier this year the company launched in Ireland exclusively at Harvey Norman which offers nationwide in-store expertise.
The firm opened its Irish account with three models: the flagship Saros Z70, the ultra-slim Saros 10 and the entry-level QV 35S. Each targets a different type of household (and budget), but all machines reflect the brand’s focus on automation, strong suction power and useful customisable features.

Roborock QV 35S in everyday use
I’ve been testing Roborock QV 35S, which is an affordable 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that punches well above its price point in terms of features and cleaning ability.
The robustly made machine delivers 10,000 Pa suction power and features an anti-tangle roller and side brushes to help the robot collect hair and other debris. The vacuum function works impressively well. The machine can also mop effectively, with dual 200 revolutions per minute (rpm) spinning mop heads and 30 water levels.
While this model cannot identify objects in its path like some of the more expensive Roborock machines, it can reliably avoid them which is the all-important bit of that equation. It uses PreciSense LiDAR and Reactive Tech obstacle avoidance technologies to do this and you will marvel at how smoothly it moves around your home while choosing an efficient path.
It pairs with an intuitive app full of functionality that makes it easy to map rooms and set up no-go zones. You can also schedule regular cleanings, whether for the full home or just particular zones or rooms.

When it has finished cleaning, the robot automatically returns to its relatively compact multifunctional docking station. This is where your mops are washed and dried, and if the robot’s water tank needs refilling it will be done automatically.
The docking station is also where your vacuum’s dustbin debris will be automatically emptied. The firm claims up to seven weeks of hands-free cleaning depending on your usage and my testing would back this timeframe up.
After the cleaning has finished, the app will summarise the work done and highlight where the robot has cleaned and detail which areas were vacuumed and mopped.
The robot will also return to the docking station to recharge if you run out of power during cleaning. Battery stamina, incidentally, is rated at up to 180 minutes, which is pleasing, but that will depend on what factors such as what power mode you are using.
Roborock QV 35S comes with 2.4 GHz WiFi connectivity so you can remotely control it using the Roborock app or by voice control. There is compatibility with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
Roborock QV 35S verdict and pricing
Overall, this is a premium robot mop and vacuum experience from an acclaimed brand at an affordable price of less than €500 at Harvey Norman. The only caveat is that the recommended cleaning solution for the mop is not currently on sale at Harvey Norman and is not widely available online but you can get it on Amazon with a few weeks of waiting time.
