While there are still some sunny days to come, it appears the end of the glorious weather is in sight

The stretch of glorious weather that has graced Ireland over the last week could end with showers raining down across the country later in the week, forecasters have warned.
The country has been enjoying sunshine and highs of 21C over the last few days, with more to come into next week, as daytime temperatures are forecast to hit the mid to high teens, with dry weather for the most part.
While Met Éireann forecasters said the weather would stay settled until later in the week, they added there could be a chance of clouds and showery rain spreading northwards over the country through Thursday.
Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather also warned of downpours towards the end of next week, but stressed there was uncertainty surrounding the current forecast. He wrote: “A risk of showers Thursday/Friday but a lot of uncertainty yet. If you have plans I wouldn’t panic just yet.”

Below is Met Éireann’s Irish weather forecast for the rest of April:
Monday
Turning mostly cloudy from the west tomorrow after a bright start. The odd isolated light shower is possible, but sunshine will improve through the afternoon and into the evening. Highest temperatures of 13C to 17C in light northerly winds. It will be a dry and largely clear night with isolated patches of mist and fog forming. Lowest temperatures of 5C to 8C in light variable winds.
Tuesday
A largely fine and dry day with sunny spells and scattered clouds. Highest temperatures of 13C to 18C, warmest in the west as a light to moderate easterly wind returns. It will be dry with long clear spells and light easterly winds on Tuesday night. Lowest temperatures of 4C to 7C.

Wednesday
Dry and sunny for much of the day, but cloud will build in southern areas later and may bring showers towards nightfall. Highest temperatures of 12C to 17C, again warmest in the west as a moderate easterly wind persists.
Thursday
While there is some uncertainty in the forecast for Thursday, current indications suggest there is the possibility of clouds and showery rain spreading northwards over the country through the day. Highest temperatures of 12C to 16C in a moderate east to southeast wind.
