We remain in the early stages of the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution – and given the scale of its reach across modern life, it is hardly surprising that sport is already feeling its effects.

The debate around AI, and whether it represents a threat as much as an opportunity, is also in its infancy. But its proponents are keen to draw one clear line: AI is a tool to assist human decision‑making, not to replace it.
