Tributes are being paid to a young dad-of-three from Co Roscommon who died suddenly earlier this week.
Callum Nally, from Monksland in Athlone, passed away suddenly on Tuesday (April 28), according to a death notice shared on RIP.ie.
Callum is sadly missed by his loving mother Sharon, step-father Joey, children Ava, Freya and Colby, sister Bhrianna, brother Davin, grandparents Mary and Alfie Nally and Eileen Turley, uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws, relatives and many friends.
Callum was a talented martial arts fighter who was a member and coach at Hiver Muay Thai gym in Athlone.
Callum’s sudden death has left his friends and family devastated, with his brother Davin paying tribute to the young man in a heartbreaking social media message.
“I may not have had a biological father to raise me into a man, but my big brother Callum Nally was always there,” Davin wrote.

“He taught me how to be strong, to fight, to show compassion and love towards others, my biggest supporter, my big brother, who believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself, I’ve never known and will never know another man like you big brother.
“Forever and always Callum, I’ll love you until my last final breath and in my next life until we meet again, forever and always, brother.”
Mourners also paid tribute to the popular young martial arts fighter, with one person saying: “I am so sad to hear this awful news about this lovely lad Callum. I shared some funny stories about his Dad, he gave me the biggest warmest hugs, what a beautiful soul he was. Sincere condolences to all his family, the Nally’s and Turley’s. My heart breaks for you all, he’s with his Dad Eoghan now.”
While another person said: So saddened to hear of Callum’s passing.I have many fond memories of Callum as a young boy in the Gaelscoil days. He was a character, always included his classmates and had a great sense of humour. Sincere sympathy to Sharon and all the family at this time. Solas ná bhflaitheas dá anam uasal.”
Callum’s funeral was held at Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church in Athlone on Saturday, with the young man laid to rest in Coosan Cemetery.
