Jerry Cahir has become the latest Leinster star to link up with the province’s former head coach in Connacht, Stuart Lancaster, after announcing his switch to his home province.
It marks the culmination of an astonishing rise to prominence for the erstwhile All-Ireland League star, a diamond polished by so many beneath the professional structure of the sport, particularly Trinity’s coaching legend, Tony Smeeth.
