HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Homebuyers in Silverwood, a new master-planned community in Hesperia, will move into homes equipped with high-speed internet access as part of a unique digital infrastructure plan included in monthly homeowner assessments.

Silverwood has partnered with The Broadband Group to provide residents with gigabit-speed internet and whole-home Wi-Fi that is ready to activate the day they move in. The service, included in each homeowner’s monthly assessment, eliminates the need for separate internet contracts or installations.

Silverwood General Manager John Ohanian said the community’s internet solution reflects modern-day demands and a commitment to resident convenience. “We are excited that every Silverwood home will be a gigabit home. The internet is part of our modern daily lives whether we are working from home, have kids completing schoolwork, or are using it for leisure activities from shopping to streaming to gaming,” said Ohanian.

He added, “We are grateful for our partnership with The Broadband Group to ensure our community has a strong technological infrastructure and that each of our residents have access to high-speed internet, and all that it enables, seamlessly from day one. In addition, we are happy to provide residents and their guests with Wi-Fi connections in public gathering areas, ensuring there won’t be a missed opportunity due to poor phone signal to livestream about the Silverwood good life!”

Free gigabit-speed Wi-Fi will also be available at the Crest Club, Village Green, and throughout community parks.

Silverwood is among the first large-scale developments in Southern California to provide gigabit-speed internet through a community-wide agreement. The setup offers residents a more than 50% savings compared to standard market rates, according to project officials. Homes are pre-wired and allow for instant activation with equal upload and download speeds.

The first phase of Silverwood includes over 2,000 homes. Builders participating in the project include Lennar, Richmond American Homes, Watt Capital Developers, Woodside Homes, and K. Hovnanian. Residents have already begun moving in.

Located in the Mojave River Valley, Silverwood promotes a “small-town California” lifestyle with modern amenities. Future plans for the community include over 700,000 square feet of commercial space, schools, fire stations, a post office, and town squares with dining and shopping. The development is also adjacent to Silverwood Lake, with Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear within driving distance.

Outdoor amenities are a central focus, with 59 miles of off-street trails, 107 miles of pathways, and 387 acres of parks. Homes range in size and price, starting in the $400,000s, and offer features such as RV and toy parking, rear yard casitas, and multi-generational layouts.

Silverwood also promotes a “culture of kindness,” encouraging residents to sign a pledge promoting neighborly behavior and community engagement. The pledge is incorporated into club activities and community gatherings.
