Two TDs have claimed to the Dáil that former surgeon Michael Shine was one of the most prolific sex abusers in Europe.
The allegation, made separately by Louth deputies Joanna Byrne of Sinn Féin and Ged Nash of Labour, came in a debate on the launch of a scoping exercise into his alleged crimes.
