Gardaí are investigating the sudden death of a man who was found unresponsive at a secondary school for girls in Bray, County Wicklow, on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Shortly after 8am, gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a man in his 40s was discovered on the premises of Loreto Secondary School, on Vevay Road, Bray.
The man, who was known locally to gardaí, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
In a message to parents on Thursday morning, the school said there had been “an incident involving a member of the public on school grounds”, adding that it was “cooperating with An Garda Síochána”.
Gardaí said the coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified. A post-mortem examination is to be arranged, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.
