Ireland U-19 captain Rory Finneran has earned his first senior call-up with Heimir Hallgrimsson including the Newcastle midfielder in his squad for this month’s training camp in Spain.
The 18-year-old could make his senior Irish debut in the friendly against Grenada on Saturday week, with Finneran linking up with the squad today following the withdrawals of Cardiff City’s Joel Bagan and Ipswich Town’s Kasey McAteer due to injury.
