If you want to gauge how different the ‘new’ MasterChef (BBC One, Mondays and Thursdays at 8pm) is to the one hosted for close on 20 years by the now disgraced duo of Gregg Wallace and John Torode, just look at how Thursday’s episode handles nuts.
Before we do that, though, such is the rate at which scandal-hit male BBC personalities are dropping from lofty positions like conkers in autumn, a little refresher feels in order.
