The upcoming week will begin with mostly dry and settled conditions before transitioning to a cooler, more unsettled pattern from midweek onward, with blustery winds and widespread heavy showers

Met Eireann has predicted that over the coming days, the weather will be generally changeable and that somewhat unsettled conditions are expected to continue.
Temperatures are also due to remain slightly below average for this time of year. Ireland Weather Channel forecaster Cathal Nolan added that a “cold front” will move in, but it will be weak, bringing some cloudier conditions.
There will be some scattered showers, with temperatures hovering between 9 and 14 degrees on average. The mildness experienced over the weekend is due to a ridge of high pressure, which should also continue into the coming days, but by mid-week the temperatures may take a dip.
“Situated to the southwest of Iceland, that’s brought with it pretty settled conditions for the last number of days and indeed is going to continue to bring settled weather as we go through this week,” said the latest Ireland’s Weather Channel forecast.
“Fast forward ahead to tomorrow, we see more cloud, we can see that already, starting to spill in from the north west, that’s in relation to a weak cold front, it is going to bring cloudier conditions through tomorrow, still some sunny spells to be enjoyed, but also one or two scattered showers.
Ireland’s Weather Channel pinpoints Wednesday as the day things will get quite cool.
“Tuesday is a better day, sunshine right the way across the country, but with a fresh northwesterly wind developing, making it feel particularly cool for the time of year. A very showery day to come on Wednesday, with a wind coming from a northerly direction once again, feeling very cold on Wednesday.
“Temperatures no better than about 9 to 12 degrees Celsius, feeling closer to about 7 to 9 degrees Celsius.So a particularly cold feel of a day for the middle of the month of May. But in general we are expected to see pretty cool conditions this week with temperatures a couple of degrees below average. The good news is we will see below average rainfall as well.”

Sunday
The day will be mainly dry with sunny spells, though cloud will build from the northwest later with isolated showers possible in western and northwestern coastal areas. Highest temperatures will range from 10 to 15 degrees with light to moderate northerly winds. Tonight will stay dry in most areas as cloud extends southwards and patchy rain or drizzle develops in Connacht and Ulster, with lows of 3 to 8 degrees.
Monday
A mostly cloudy morning with patchy rain or drizzle will give way to brighter weather and sunny spells in Ulster and Leinster during the afternoon. Munster and Connacht will stay mostly cloudy with highs of 11 to 15 degrees in light breezes. Overnight, cloud will increase from the northwest with patchy rain following by morning and lows of 6 to 10 degrees.
Tuesday
Cloud and patchy rain will extend southeastward during the morning, followed by brighter, breezier conditions and scattered showers arriving from the northwest. Highest temperatures will reach 11 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds. During the night, showers will spread across the country, some turning heavy, with lows of 5 to 9 degrees.
Wednesday
Conditions will be cool and blustery with a mix of sunny spells and showers, some of which will be heavy. Highest temperatures will be between 9 and 13 degrees in fresh and gusty northwesterly winds.
Thursday
Current indications show another cool and breezy day with showers. Highest temperatures will range from 9 to 13 degrees with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds.
