REVEALED: Former two time All-Ireland winner announces engagement in social media post

Cathal Barrett, two-time All-Ireland winner and two-time All-Star corner-back with Tipperary, has announced his engagement to partner Katie O’Regan.

In a post shared on Instagram with his social media followers on May 6, the Holycross man revealed the happy news alongside photographs taken at Dogs Bay, the renowned white-sand beach in Connemara, County Galway.

The caption on the post indicates that the couple got engaged on May 2. The post quickly attracted congratulations from friends, teammates and followers.

Cathal enjoyed a distinguished inter-county career with Tipperary and was regarded as one of the county’s most consistent defenders during a successful era for the Premier.

The Holycross-Ballycahill clubman won All-Ireland senior hurling titles in 2016 and 2019 and earned two All-Star awards for his performances at corner-back.

The engagement announcement has been warmly received online, with many supporters sending best wishes to the couple as they celebrate the next chapter in their lives.
