Venue confirmed for Limerick's Munster Minor Hurling final against Tipp - Ireland News Beep

THE venue has been confirmed for the Electric Ireland Munster Minor Hurling Championship final between Limerick and Tipperary, the Munster Council have announced.

FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles will host the big match on Friday night, which throws in at 7pm, after the counties agreed to toss for home advantage.

This will be the beginning of a two game home and away arrangement between Limerick and Tipperary for Munster finals played at this grade, the Munster Council added.

Limerick come into the game off the back of a huge nine-point win over Cork last Friday night, Xavier Nelligan and Diarmuid Crowe getting the crucial second half goals for Diarmuid Mullins’ side.

However, the Shannonsiders are in for a tough battle against a highly-rated – and unbeaten – Tipp outfit.

“Look, Tipperary are the team in this competition if you look at it really,” said Mullins. “They’ve won all their games so far, they’ve a fantastic team, really skillful, really well coached.

“We played them a couple of weeks ago and they were the better team than us on the night, there was no complaint from us there. We just have to do the best that we can next week and try and get a performance again and work really, really hard and we’ll see how far that can bring us,” he added.

“We’re hopeful that if we work really hard, every game can be competitive.”
