Two men have appeared in court in connection with an incident at a housing estate in Letterkenny recently.

Thomas Reilly and Felix Connors appeared at separate sittings of Letterkenny District Court.

Thomas Reilly, a 23-year-old of Canal Road, Neil T Blaney Road, Letterkenny, and 19-year-old Felix Connors, of Canal Road, Letterkenny, were charged with similar offences.

The pair were before the court over an incident at Glenwood Park, Letterkenny, on May 2, 2026.

They were each charged with using threatening, abusive or insulting words of behaviour in a public place with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or being reckless as to whether a breach of the peace may be occasioned.

The charge is contrary to section 6 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994.

Evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of Reilly was given to the court by way of a schedule.

Garda Inspector Pat McCann told the court that there may be further charges and the matter needs directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

“It is the early stage of the investigation,” Inspector McCann said.

Reilly was represented by barrister Mr Pat O’Sullivan BL, instructed by solicitor Mr Morgan Coleman, and solicitor Mr Michael Shiel represented Connors.

Gardai told the court that there was no objection to bail.

The two men were remanded on bail with conditions attached, including that they have no contact with any witnesses in the investigation.

They were also ordered not to enter an address set out in the charge and not to enter “surrounding housing estates”.

The accused men must commit no further offence and provide a phone number to Gardai on which he can be contactable 24-7.

Reilly was placed on a curfew from 11pm-7am and must sign on at Letterkenny Garda Station three times a week.

Both matters were adjourned to allow for directions in the case from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
