Late-night host Jimmy Fallon delivered a savage dig at Kash Patel after Donald Trump departed the White House bound for China.
The polarizing political figure, 46, found himself squarely in Fallon’s crosshairs during Thursday night’s broadcast, May 14, as the comedian took aim at Trump’s overseas visit for a high-stakes summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump was accompanied by a roster of heavyweight names, including Elon Musk, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Nvidia boss Jensen Huang, along with family members Eric Trump and Lara Trump. It comes after Melania Trump was left “quietly resentful” over Lara Trump’s invitation to China.

“Today, President Trump arrived in China for a two-day summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping,” Fallon, 51, told viewers. “As soon as Trump left for China, Kash Patel slid into the Oval Office in his underwear like Tom Cruise.”
The quip referenced the iconic scene from the 1983 movie Risky Business, in which Tom Cruise famously dances around in a shirt and underwear after being left home alone.

Audiences were quick to react online, with one person writing, “The solidarity of our beloved late-night comedians!! Humor has saved us.” Another viewer joked they could “never unsee the image.”
A third fan commented, “That is hilarious. I think he will go after you Jimbo when Stephen Colbert left.” While a fourth viewer added, “Thank you Jimmy for the laughs and standing up to Trump’s tyranny.”
Long-time Trump loyalist and polarizing MAGA figure Kash Patel has become embroiled in a string of controversies over recent months, with serious allegations mounting over his conduct and leadership at the helm of the FBI.
The Atlantic dropped a bombshell report alleging Patel had displayed signs of “excessive drinking” and unexplained absences while running the bureau.
The piece drew on more than two dozen anonymous sources, including current and former officials, who reportedly raised red flags over his behavior and dependability in high-stakes situations.

Among the most striking claims were allegations that meetings had to be rescheduled following late nights out, and that staff at one point reportedly struggled to reach Patel while he was behind locked doors, even discussing the use of “breaching equipment.”
The report further alleged that some officials feared his conduct could pose a national security risk. Patel has vehemently pushed back against the accusations, dismissing the story as “fake news” and a “total farce.”
He subsequently filed a sweeping $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic and reporter Sarah Fitzpatrick, maintaining he has “never been intoxicated on the job.”
Separately, footage surfaced earlier this year showing Patel chugging beer in a locker room celebration alongside Team USA hockey players during the Winter Olympics in Milan, an incident that also triggered significant backlash against him.
